View photos from this amazing event. During the ceremony, we paid our respects to those who have served our country – both living and deceased. Specials guests included dignitaries from the county, state and national levels. The Paper Wall (a collection of newspaper obituaries and stories about the Wisconsin Vietnam killed in action) , a Dog Tag Boot Monument and the Vietnam Traveling Wall (a reduced scale monument of the Washington DC Vietnam Memorial which stands 6′ tall at the center and covers almost 300′ end to end) were on display. Also present was the Huey helicopter school which was offering rides.
Recognizing the magnitude of the commitments made by our local hero’s, the memorial event featured The Healing Wall, the touring, half-scale replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall located in Washington, D.C. and a Vietnam era Huey Air Ambulance Helicopter. The Healing Wall was on display for the entire five days with the Huey Helicopter on site for three days. In addition to visiting the displays, guests had the opportunity to ride on the classic Huey helicopter.
